Not really Jeep related but pretty cool to share.
I had the opportunity to go out with the Arkansas Game and Fish on a black bear reproductive survey.  These momma bears have a tracking collar and they check to see how many offspring she had this year.  Momma bear is darted and the cubs are weighed and measured.  Fun and educational trip!

What a cool trip, here in Ga we have a lot of black bears up in the north GA mountains, also lots of them along the FL panhandle coast near Carrabelle and Port Saint Joe. Lots of WMAs in those areas to support learge populations of black bears.

 The cubs are so cute

Cute cubs for sure.  Around our place, black bears are just pestilence.  To the point we usually don't even try to pick the apples.  The only ones you can pick are the ones judged too green by the bears.  And you can't put the garbage dumpster out more than a 1/2 hour before the truck gets there or you will be picking it all up off the road.

That and now 3 times over, I've been face to face at less than 10 feet from one.  Two of those caught me un-armed but the third one had a nice little red dot between her eyes before she finally decided to turn and leave.  Red dot as in 320 grain HCFN Double Tap 44 mag.

Side note: Does the navy still issue those foul weather jackets?
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

I found this one at an online surplus store. I wear it all the time.

They're great jackets.  I wish I had acquired a large-size one when I was in.  I was just medium then.
