This document isn't done yet.  I'm sure I've missed a few ID points, and it needs more/better descriptive commentary, but should be useful as-is.

Most useful for someone going to look at a CJ-2A purchase.  First best ID is the various manufacturer tags & stampings:

CJ-2A Serial numbers & locations

... but since many vehicles are found missing the serial number tags, or have mixed-up tags, or have been pieced together using parts from different years, the "spotters guide" is intended to ID the different vintage parts & pieces:

Sean, where did you get the early pic of the cj2a engine w serial number? Us that your jeep eng serial number?

No, engine 10170 belongs to another page member. Early block numbers were 5-50 numbers higher than serial due to no FIFO inventory system and engines being pulled off the line for other uses.
