I know the springs are longer and the mounts will be farther apart when I mount the CJ5 springs I have, but I'm wondering if the axle is equadistant from either mount (front or rear), or is it too fluid with the shackle moving to be accurate? I guess I'm looking for a way to know where to place the mounts front and rear to center the rear wheel in the wheel well.

The CJ5 has a 81" wheel base so 1" longer then the 2A or 3A. You would have to move the spring hanger forward about an inch based on my CJ-5 frame under My 48 2A tub. Then the rear shackle mounts will end up moving to almost outside the frame. I made long solid mounts to handle this when I shortened up my CJ5 frame to better fit my 2A tub. You can see them here:
I didn't change my front mount as it was already a CJ5 setup. |
