Not that I have seen, I am a member of a military vehicle club.

It would be great to have one!

I'll second that.

I belong to a military club too (MTA North Jersey).

They're great bunch of guys (and girls too).  A long time friend has been very active in the group for years, but I always feel mildly odd arriving at functions with a CJ.  Doesn't stop me from going!!  I hit some trails with them every year; it's great to put the 4WD work!  But, the fact remains that I have a "farm tractor", not a "scout car".

I'm in the far northern part of Sussex County.  Great jeep country.  Lots of places to ride around that are "old jeep friendly"; which to me means speed limits of 40-ish, opportunities to use the 4WD, nice scenery and things to do (tour, eat, shop, etc.).

Frankly, I usually ride alone or with my daughter.  Never had another flat-fender with me on an excursion.

Of course, the difficulties of forming a "civilian group/club" are distance (my jeep is quite reliable, but it's still a 60+ year old ride with all the "comforts"!) and weather (I don't have a top).   But, I'd still be willing to drive a bit to meet up with some flat- fenders (or CJ5s and 7s too).

Not interested in rock crawling or heavy duty trails.  Just a chance to drive, and work, my jeep a little.  Talking to other folks about their ride is always a lot of fun too!

Any ideas regarding how to gather the brethren in NJ?

Chris
Lets get together after the holidays and chat. We could also include Russ. I have met Russ already and I know he would be interested in a flat fender club in N.J.

Just saw this thread.  Count me in also.   Seem to be many members in NJ.  I'm betting many may not have seen this but would be interested.

Im in Somerset County, right in the middle of the state. I would be interested in a club somewhere in NJ, but obviously the closer it is, the nicer it would be...

I could always host a get together at my work. Lots room and some jeep stuff to look at.

How about a Sunday in March?

Then we can plan one later in the spring when it warms up.

Sounds like a good start.  Is there an easy way to  PM or reach out to all NJ members in case they don't check this section often?

Russ,
That sounds like a good idea. When in march would you like to get together? Im free the weekend of the 8th and 22nd, but I can make time on the other weekends.

If its going to be child friendly, I can bring my boys, therefore, any weekend in march would work. They would love your parts isle. I always admire childrens imagintion. But they may want to bring some stuff home...

The 23rd of march works for me. I can host at my work.
Hopefully we won't have too much snow!
