Hi Ed,  The only machine shops I have dwelt with are in Rapid City.
Pro Machine rebuilt my '64 F head in late 2014, I think they did a good job.  Their phone is 605-348-4819.

Johnson Machine rebuilt the 3.2L Pinto engine that I am in the process of getting into our '52 M-38.  I have it all together, but not installed or started yet.  Their phone is 605-348-4300 talk to Dan.

You might want to get The Jeep Re-builders Manual '46 to '71 by Moses Ludell.  A Jeep shop manual is real good to have also.

Good luck.   Tom

OK, update on "stuck engine".
Removed engine and took it to machine shop in Torrington, WY.
Have not got it back yet but it needed: New pistons .030 over.
Seams engine had .020 pistons in it already. Odd as I never had it overhauled.
Must have been done prior to 1969, which is when I bought it.
Also needed to have the crank turned and a new cam shaft.
Seams one of the lobes was flat?
Should get it back in a couple weeks.

Started on brakes (new hub puller works great!)
How do I know what size brake shoes to order?
Brake drum is about 11 inches inside?

Been doing some research, and seems my jeep has the jeep wagon brake conversion?
Brake drums are right at 11 inch inside diameter. Assuming 11 inch shoes are in order?
Any one have ideas on who offers the "best for the least"?
Also, I haven't taken the wheel brake cylinders apart to check for pitting etc.
Best idea here? rebuild cylinders or just buy new?
Thanks for the help!

before your order check rockauto.com for brake parts to see if they're cheaper, they have been closing out some of the older vehicle parts and the prices are good even with shipping.

Belleview ol skool winch soon.

Hi Edward,
I've been through Lusk a few times on my way to the Black Hills Run...(a Flat Fender gathering held in June)  Nice town.

One Forum suggestion:  It is generally best to start a new thread with a new subject line when your questions change.  Guys that know tons about 11" brake conversions, but know very little about stuck engines might not read your current thread.  You are more likely to get helpful responses about your brakes if you start a new thread.  I'm a perfect example.  I know about stuck engines Unhappy, but I don't know anything about the 11" brakes on later Willys vehicles.
