I just brought home a new fire jeep.
This is a 1949 and is a CJ3A Boyer conversion.
Wrong forum for a CJ3A but I know many will still be interested.

This jeep is essentially 100% original as it was when taken out of service in 1980.
It has been in long term storage since then.
I have history of the jeep back to when it was purchased in 1949.

The good stuff is still out there.

Thumbs Up WOW! Nice find, Dan! I'd love to find one like that! Very complete, too. More pics, please?  Since my FD was founded in 1955, I'd love to find a '55 CJ3B Fire Jeep.   BW

Edit: Oops, sorry, I missed the link to more pics. Front-mount pump?  BW

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Except for the RF fender she seems to be in really nice condition. I would be tempted to clean it up, get it running, and keep it as an unrestored original example. Sweet find. Thumbs Up

Dan:
Amazing rig - complete with the tender, hard suction pipe, rear view mirror... I have a '48 CJ2 fire Jeep - brings smiles and thumbs up every where it goes. Congrats!

Yes.  Very complete.  it has the strainer for the suction pipes, original ladder, brass nozzles, etc.  Yes, the right front fender is damaged a bit.  That would be an easy fix except it would have to be repainted.  Any future plans will be to bring this back to full mechanical order but left as is otherwise.  The jeep has just over 4000 miles on it and it was fully functional when it was stored away nearly 40 years ago.

It seems that the CJ3A conversions are much less common than the CJ2A conversions.  I've got brochures showing CJ3B and CJ5 conversions but I've never seen one in person.   This is the first CJ3A conversion that I have seen.
