Advance won't do you any good on that swap unless you want to run an automatic....and for that you'll first need the adapter to get from the engine to the c-4 tranny from Speedway $400, then the adapter from Advance to get from the c-4 to the Dana 18 which is about $500.

So for about $900 you'll get everything bolted together and ready to start the swap.  There used to be an 'old school' swap to the t-90 but I have no info on that.

Thanks for looking into this. I checked with both the adapter places and got nowhere. Going to a c4 isn't what I had in mind. I'm going to see if I can adapt it myself. I've got a Bridgeport and a lathe and I know how to use them. Maybe a new product in the works for the twisted flathead guys like me.

i have been looking for a long time for a Willys flathead V8 and adapter to drop in a project....i have decided that the cost of an adapter from a T-90 to my 100 hp flathead Ford just isnt the way i want to go...

anyone got any leads on a Willys flathead V8?

sorry to hi-jack, back to the topic...

Big smile .....maybe......(it won't be cheap though and the adapter won't be either)

Since the Willys and the Ford use the same adapter for the T-90 the adapters aren't quite as rare as the engine but they still are fairly hard to find.....(and priced accordingly)Wink

OK, I'll bite, did Willys really make a flathead V8?
If so, what years were they made?
In the next week or 2, I am going on a wild goose chase to a guys shop in a nearby town that is supposed to have tons of old Willys stuff (as the tale is told).

Sorry for another Hi-Jack.

They are sooooo rare, they only have been spotted in a certain Willys 2A pickup truck in the south somewheres.., I think. Only ONE is known to exist. Several other Willys V8's have been thought to have been located, only to find out they were actually Ford engines that had a dab of grease on the head covering where the super rare Willys mark is found ...Wink

I know someone that might have some info on the old school flathead V8 swap, I'll try to check with him in the next couple days.

Short answer is yes....longer answer is, the whole vehicle was built from scratch with everything having it's place from the beginning....I think the whole secret to a successful swap.

Yes, it's a C-4........yes, it's a Holley 390

Rob, this is what is needed for the 'old school' swap with the T-90.............

Very Cool!!! I’m not sure how the Willys was embossed on the head but the 8CM indicates Mercury
