A Fake weight?......now this is going too far .

Saying that, my one is still under the bench, too heavy to put on and as yet I have not acquired any rear implements.....still shopping.

I've thought about using an orig. , building a mold and making a fiberglass she'll that could be foam filled to give the "Look" without the added weight on the front suspension.

Hi  Sir, thanks a lot for your mail.
I was thinking make a front bumper in wood.
I live in Argentina and don´t see too much sense, move an aluminum front bumper from the USA.
For that reason, I was looking some drawings with dimensions.

Cheers and tks

The FC ones are different.

I looked into getting these cast here on campus a few years ago and was told it was too big for their capabilities. I'd say aluminum would be a good choice or abs plastic or something similar.

It's all that and maybe a little more given the fact that the hand holds aren't there. It took my son and I to remove it from the truck bed back when I brought it home.

Does it weigh 265 lbs or is it a little different from being cast different?

I found one photo online of an FC counter weight and it appeared to be a different animal all together, being mounted in the rear and all. I would imagine this is from a foundry that received some of the filler contracts from Willys. Everything is the same except for the holes in lieu of hand holds.

Tim, I know the forward control jeep has an optional weight. It's used to counterweight the vehicle itself. Someone with an FC can help me out but my guess is yours is from an FC.

I have one that I bought without seeing it first from a member here and while it looks identical to the others in every other way it doesn't have hand holds, just two approximately 1" holes in their place. Mine is on the garage floor right now, but this photo from an eWillys ad is exactly what mine looks like. Another Willys optional equipment variation? I'm curious.

Yep I think that would work well for the ag weights as well....cast aluminum would be good.

I think that polymer that the company that makes the mock-up engine heads and blocks out of would really work well too.

Maybe somebody could 3D print some? Wink  (I wouldn't charge much for the idea) LOL

Bill and Roc:

Yes, my good friend Daron Wanberg had a mold made from an original cast steel Agrijeep 40 lb. bumper weight half section (8 total half sections required for the 4 Agrijeep CJ-2 bumper weights) then had those half sections cast in aluminum.  That's what the 8 half section bumper weights on CJ2-09 are made from, cast aluminum as seen here:

I still think someone should pull a plug mold off one of those....if they can make fake rocks oughta be able to make a lightweight version of one of those too.

Harry Sheets (Midwest Willys in Crawfordsville, IN) will bring one to the reunion if you give him a call. He has a bunch of them at his shop but since they're so frickin heavy he may not bring one unless he knows someone is after one.Big smile
