Just picked up a 1950 jeepster titled as a 49. Gotta take it out and get a title inspection in Ohio but need to know where to find a data plate on it with the serial number.

According to the book that I have the ID plate is located   'above glove box door on underside of cowl to windshield header'.

Thanks Jim, I'll check that out in the daylight.

Here's a shot of it if this works from my phone. Nope. Still can't figure out how to do that!

Yup. That was the spot, and it matches the title numbers! The year is off though. Wonder if the Ohio DMV will change it for me?

Here's a shot of it on the trailer when I picked it up. It's going to need a floor before anything else.

I found the axle data tag, it was a 6 cylinder car with overdrive as it has the 4.88 axle and the overdrive knob.

Congratulations! Like Chad said what are the plans for it? 4x4? Diesel? Or do the same thing Jeff did and modernize everything you won't really see?

Plus that looks clean, at least what is shown.

This is a 473 vj. I, going straight 6 ford with an auto trains and manual overdrive. Nothing too wild. It's decent, but has no floors.

That looks pretty nice Bob! Glad you guys made it over & back O.K. It was good meeting you and I appreciate you dropping the top off. I drilled out the rivets and removed those tail lights on the rear roof. Now I know hap hard you worked getting that top off without tearing everything up. Tough job but certainly appreciated.
Good luck with you project. I'm gonna try to get over next year and see those agri-jeeps you were telling me about and maybe you'll be driving it by then. Shoot straight and stay safe.

Bensh, it was nice to meet you and your father. I think it's great he's still going at 96. BobG and I agree that it would be great to still be able to irk on stuff at that age.

Roc, I need to make it an auto (for the wife), so the donor would need to be a 2wd Cherokee. My buddy has a private Ford Junkyard (not as nice as Neil's) but all of the stuff is there for the taking.
