This is a pic of a couple of rear PTO mounts with a quick connect to the PTO shaft "from tractor supply store" The pump shown is a sprayer pump, but I used the other mount for hydraulics log splitter very similar to yours. The advantage is you don't have to unhook when moving, with long enough hoses. Having an open spinning shaft that close to the control I'm a little concerned for your safety Wadoyado.
