Heres the frame in the pickup, next onto the horses and then into Por15. Have to finish the YJ bed liner project today, then paint the frame. I love Por15.

I thought you were doing a T-18 .... just curious.  Can't help you with the T-15 but I think sonoblast77 has a T-14/D20 if that's any help.

The T-18 is the way to go. I've done a sm465 and have a sm420 combo sitting in the barn,  I love the T-18 in my 3b with a v6. You can use the stock cj5 motor mounts from your doner as well.  you can use the stock v6 bell housing with no adapter.  Ford t18 is easier to go with and less confusing.

Windyhill, how can I use the stock Dauntless bellhousing with the T-18. Everything I've read says you need to adapt it to the T-18??

It took me about 2 hours to cut those poor mans lift kit off that frame today. But I did get the YJ tub in bed liner and I did get the 2a frame in Por15 and burnt a lot of brush at the same time.

jpet, I was going to use the T-18, but when I found out that my tansfer mount could stay in the same place with a T-15, I thought that was the way to go. Who knows, I may still end up using it.

Nate, I sent you a couple of messages, let me know about the T-15.

If you get a Ford T18, all you have to do it drill and tap the bell housing. No adapter needed. Then you have to change out the rear bearing carrier of the T18 to a Jeep/scout one so the transfer case bolts right on. Without any adapters, the T18 ends up being the same length as a 3spd with the adapter.

Still plugging. Have the frame in the barn, new spring hangers to put on and then my four new superlift 2.5 springs to hang. Also have new U-Bolts. Had the old plates blasted and in POR 15. Think I may have a T15 local, we'll see. But once I set it back down on the wheels, I'll be starting the drive train, then the body. I'm really hoping to have it rolling 80-90 percent by spring. I'll get some new pics the next time I think about it.

And so it begins. No time lately to get things going, but I picked one nice cold night, I'd say it was about 5 degrees when I started welding the tub together.   This is one thing that I've learned about buying all the tub panels individually, DON"T DO IT.   I was trying to save some money, or so I thought, by buying the panels one at a time. Next time, I am buying a complete tub, minus front fenders, hood, etc. I had a good cowl and firewall and decent front fenders, so I bought the panels here and there. I saw a complete tub on ebay, just the tub, with no fenders etc. for about the same price as the panels that I bought and NOW have to weld together. Oh well, I'm having so much fun welding it together, I guess it doesn't matter. But next time, I will just save the cash to buy complete. But this was night one of welding and trying to get the tub together. I hope to pick up the pace this week and the next couple of weeks to get the body complete and on the frame for more fitting of other parts, prior to taking it back off for paint. Cross your fingers I can stay on track. Really looking to get this rolling before the snow melts and then on the road by summer.

Its been below zero every night that I started this. Been picking here and there the last few nights. Trying to get the old cowl and firewall fitted today, ended up being easier than I thought. By this time next week, the tub should be all welded together. Keep the fingers crossed. Hopefully we up in New England will get a warm spell, so its only in the teens at night. Confused

Picked up a Dana 27 front and Dana 44 rear today. Super, super clean axles from Cal. Out of a Cj5. Opened the rear dif cover on the 44 and found a Dana power lok and the gears and all of the parts on these axles, look brand new. 488 ratio, man am I happy camper. Wink So I may be selling my 41 and 25 axles soon. Pictures tomorrow. I just wish this weather would break soon. Cry

Well, went out into the barn yesterday with coffee in hand. Decided to get to work on getting the frame boxed in. I need to extend the front frame rails about 4 inches (by what I recon) So earlier this week, I picked up some 2X3 tubing. In the pictures I decided to do a 4 inch extend, but I wanted to begin boxing in the frame as well, so this is what I came up with. I have to pick up some plate this week to finish the job, but I was happy the way its turning out thus far. The tubing actually fit snug over the existing frame. The reason I wanted to do it this way, was to have the data plate remain where it was and to make it look, sorta, kinda stock. Its not done, but its a good start. I'm going to spend some good time on this, because with the longer front springs up front, its only going to put more stress on the front frame rails. I also have to fix a frame twist and weld a stress crack on the drivers side radiator support tube section.

Your tub is coming along nicely! I'd love to see more pictures of it.
