It occured to me that if we could find someone who has already color matched a modern paint with an original paint, and still has the brand and color blends for that paint, then we have the start of a paint recipe list.  By publishing the brand, type, and blends here in the paint forum, we'd all benefit and could expand the base of knowledge that would help us all.

By having paint blends specific to a paint brand and type, we eliminate the differences that could occur because the store's electric color eye is not lit up right or has a dirty lens or some other problem.

If someone has a piece of Michigan Yellow they would loan me for a bit, I'll volunteer to chase down that color.  It seems my "jeep project director" has changed her mind and would prefer Michigan Yellow to Normandy Blue.  Or if someone already has the mix for M.Y., could you share it with me please?

What do you think?  Would this work?

I like the idea, but have no yellow to offer you.

Harvest Tan 46
Harvard Red 46
???     Green 47...but it doesn't look like Pasture or Emerald to me, even in the trans tunnel where it's fairly well preserved. Does appear to be original to that Jeep.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,
shouting "...holy cow, what a ride!"
