I too have been tossing the idea around... looking for a large pulley to use and figuring out how to adapt a belt to my drum pulley.

Make sure to get this verified, but the PTO looks like a standard 540 rpm PTO shaft... now, did the Willys give it that speed? I dunno  Ermm
And, when I grew up, many tractors had an index mark on the tachometer that showed the throttle setting for output rpm of 540....  I have no idea what engine speed Willys would have used?

this is what I'm using for power, figured I'd use a 12" pulley on the ice cream maker and reduce rpm by 50% to slow the revolutions of the ice cream maker to a hand crank speed at engine idle to keep mix against the walls of the freezer longer until frozen. Just a guess on rpms. It's not rocket science LOL.
I do like the margarita mixer idea better, strictly off road of course!

That table is also in the mechanic's manual, if you have one.

Thanks All. Now I'm on the lookout for a weld up pulley to female P TO ADapter. Off to the Farm Store! I've considered running the back of a belt against my PTO Paper Pulley. Do Kind of a Rube Goldberg type thing . But still have it crank out Ice Cream. Like Taking The Long Way Home.

I’m in The Final stages of my ice cream maker build. Waiting on the 12” pulley I ordered from the internet. I made a 2” drive pulley to mount to the pto.

Once I get the drive pulley I’ll have to set up the idler pulley and figure out the mounting of the bucket and a few other small details.

Bob,

Post some pictures of your Jeep set up.  I have one set up for a hit and miss engine, getting speed down is critical (plus lots of salt).
