Wheelie i drove this jeep a lot this winter and never had a flat spot. the tires are quiet, ride good and have great traction. its too bad noone makes a similar treaded tire anymore in 16-600. the slightly larger size tire works well for me though. ive got about a thousand miles on them and they havent worn any. i expect they will last a long time. summit racing was selling them with free shipping on ebay. dont know if they have the same deal now or not. the best thing about the tires is that they are made in the USA!

I put 6.50x16 Super Traxions on my 3B right after I bought it. It had NDTs on it.
Several pictures to be found here: http://jeeps-folbots-etc.co.nf/jeep/jeep.html I've had no problems with frame rubbing. But my turning radius is huge. Methinks the stops are set pretty far out. Maybe a PO had bigger, wider tires on it and set the stops for them. Edited by johnrb3b - 31 Dec. 2016 at 7:08pm |

When Ted wears his sneakers out, these are what he'll be getting. What is the overall height of them? I like the height he has now with the 7.50 x 16s and don't want to loose the clearance.

My Super Traxion 6.50 x 16s are virtually new. Less than 500 miles at low speeds.
The actual, measured diameter of the tires at 25 PSI is 30.5" This is measuring across the tire - side to side. If you measure from top to bottom, you'll get a slightly lower number because of the "flat side" on the bottom. The actual, rolling diameter is the "across" measurement. By the way, in case any of you care, we got an inch of snow last night. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!? It's supposed to be Spring. Edited by johnrb3b - 15 Apr. 2014 at 4:37pm |

Here is a photo of mine with 7.00x15 Super Traxion tires. They are similar in height and width as the 6.50x16 Super Traxion tire, so I thought it would give you a good estimate on looks. They do rub a little at full turn when I was loading it up on a trailer. The tires are about 45 years old. Hasn't been driven since 1981.

6.50 x 16" tires should never rub the leaf springs. The STA Super Traxion is the tallest and widest tire you will find designated as a 6.50 x 16". It is 30-1/4" tall when mounted on KH 4-1/2" wide rims and it has a full 6" wide tread. This tire does not rub the leaf springs whenever the axle angle is correctly limited via steer stops. In this pic you see an STA Super Traxion at a full 29* steering angle. 29* angle is only available when equipped with Rzeppa axle shafts. Spicer shafts = 27-1/2* maximum angle Bendix shafts = 23* maximum angle If you look past the lower zerk you can see how 29* steer angle allows the STA tire to barely touch upon the front leaf spring. It's the tallest and widest tire one can run on a standard Willy CJ at maximum 29* steer angle. Unless you modify your rig and increase the wheel outset Excuse me for being opinionative but the flat spot concern is pure nonsense. Bias tire flat spots ? IMHO Your really not going to know if it's the suspension the tires or the road or all three. They are simply going to ride like a wild Bronco if your comparing them to a Lincoln Continental. But then the way they ride does not bother me in the least.

Thanks John. I like it too. It was my dad's jeep, so will not be sold in my lifetime. Hopefully not in my next generations' too! :)
