A friend showed me this rim thinking it was from an early Jeep. Definitely not a CJ2A rim.  It is stamped "Motor Wheel" on the back side. The rim is 16" diameter, and maybe 5" wide (the knife in second photo is 3.25" long) Any ideas? Thanks

Old Dodge/ Chevy wheel with a snap in hubcap. Find out the bolt circle measurement of the stud holes. That would help ID it.  Looks in great shape. John

Ya, not going to be a M151, they look sort of similar but didn't have a hubcap.

Thanks folks. So, Oilleaker, would this likely be pre-war Dodge/Chevy or early post-war? I'll measure the bolt circle. There are a pair of these that came from the estate of a Mopar guy. He had other vehicles too, but I think mostly 60s & 70s muscle cars.

I'm going out on a limb and saying a 1930's dodge pickup wheel.  Some of the trucks look like they had a rim like that.

Google 'artillery wheel ' and I think you have your answer.....different brands had different bolt patterns but the wheels, made for hubcaps, were generally the same style.

(I wouldn't mind having them at a good price if they were 5 on 5 1/2.) Wink

Too small for ??

There were many different artillery style wheels.....as has been touched on already I'm thinking the Dodge/Plymouth variety and the Chevy variety have the smaller hole.

Probably knowing the bolt circle would help.

They used to be sought after by the belly tank/ dry lakes crowd then the price went up....then the hot rodders started wanting them for street rods.....then they were scarce......then must all the wheel manufacturers started repopping them in all the popular sizes......then everybody was happy. Big smile
