    Posted: 13 Nov. 2016 at 11:32pm
Hi,

Here is my mess.  I have 2  PTO Front shafts for running a Winch on the front of the CJ's.. both are similar but one has the (excuse my tech terms here) funny bearing that attaches to the Bell housing, correct for cj2a, other is very similar except that bearing mount is more of a pillow block..

Problem: both are 7/8" shafts and joints.

My setup is Ramsey winch with a DP-1 PTO.. Both are 3/4

Does someone have the 3/4" willing to trade for both!  or sell me the 3/4?

Thanks for looking!!

Paul

3/4" keyway stock and yokes are a common size, and usually available at any tractor supply, that is why the Koenig shafts/yokes are harder to find..

I will check out the local tractor supply store. Thanks for the advice.

What about the bearing mount that connects to the bell housing?

you should be able to source the parts needed to fabricate a support bearing also...

Go to any competent driveline shop that handles Spicer parts and have them set you up with a Spicer 1000 series u-joint assembly. The advantage is that the u-joint kit is replaceable and that replacement yokes are individually available in case something is damaged in the future.

You will need to know the size of the shaft keyway on the winch.

The individual part numbers for Spicer 1000 series u-joints:

3/4" x 3/16" keyway = 10-4-13 yoke
3/4" x 1/4" kw       = 10-4-23 yoke

7/8" x 3/16" kw      = 10-4-53 yoke
7/8" x 1/4" kw       = 10-4-63 yoke

u-joint kit          = 5-170X

Wire lock set screw = 449D
