I had a similar similar problem. You converted to 12 volts? Did you put a resistor in line to you points? You may be warming up the condensor to the point that it's not able to keep working. Let it cool down and you get another 15 to 30 minutes right? Give it a try. A resistor to about 8 volts will work fine and is available at any parts store.
