Steve, If you think any problems are there, or you just want to see if all the valves are working take the head off. If the gasket comes off in good shape, (and it probably will) check it out, it will tell you alot. reassemble (follow tork and pattern in your manuel) and check for spark and gas, and yes drag it down the road as GBH has posted. That is the easy way to see what you got, including how your drive train is working.
