just bought a cj2a need some help

hey i just bought a 47 cj2a its my first jeep it needs new tires bad. i have a buddy with a spare set of mickey thompson baja claw 31x10.50 on 15 inch rims. will these work without any modifications? jeep seems to run good with very little rust, but its been sitting in a barn since forever and tires are rotted with huge flatspots. it has not been modified. i know there are 16" wheels on it now but i was wondering if this set up would work until i can buy new tires?
