mike, that is a power take off (pto). crawl under and look at the back side of the trany. see if you have 2 drive shafts going to the back of the jeep. one to the axle and one under the tail gate. or see if you have something heading up to the front. if you can email me a pic i will try to help. looking from the passenger side is easter than any other way.
