I started with only a frame. axles, transmission/transfer and steering geer that were usable. The only body parts were the grill and hood in poor shape. Every outher part had to be bought. Some new some NOS some repo. Cost in parts alone was over $10,000. If you look long and hard you will fine everything you need to build one form ground up. I did not start out to do this but thought it would ge fun. It was. Parts cost does not include time and painting. A re-built engine was bought as it was cheaper than re-building the one I have. For less money you should be able to find and nice (not perfect) driver. As for a diesel. The Japanese Army used a varant of the 3B for some years. They used a Mittubesshe (spelling) diesel. I have never seen a flathead diesel whitch means most are too tall to fit under a 2A hood. However with enough money anything is possible. a diesel will cost about 2&1/2 as much as a gasoline to buy new. I found the 2A will get around 20mph in 2wd under 50mph. With the cheap price of a Kabota tractor (cheap tractor) one of their diesels might work if you can mate it with the transmission. But since diesel's can only turn a max around 2,800 to 3,000rpm and best toqure at about 2,4000rm thats about the same working rpm for the Jeep 134 L head. Good Luck: Bill
