Adding the water has to be related to the overheating. Particularly since it never did it before.

: It depends on how you define overheating. If you completely filled the radiator, I wouldn't be surprised if some 'boiled' out. They seem to like to set their own level. When I take the cap off mine I can just see coolant. So it's an inch or so down.
