I welded quit a bit on another project with an inexpensive 100v flux core and compared to the gas setups I've used your welds end up dirty and require more clean up to get the fused flux out of the area. Also, and maybe more importantly for those without as much experience with welding, the flux core will give off opaque vapors as it burns that will obstruct your view of your weld bead, making it more difficult to leave a nice looking, even straight bead.
