you've been introduced to the 'death wobble'whioh is not too uncommon. It comes from a combination of factors with worn steering parts usually topping the list. The slack in the steering system lets a resonance take hold and the wheels slap back and forth. I've best been able to get it under control by turning the wheel a bit - to tighten up the linkage.

Scroll down the page as this topic is not new and there have been lots of good tips offered about what to do. I'd jack up the front end and check out the linkage from end to end. I've also found that adding a hydraulic steering stabilizer really helps but it isn't the answer to the basic problem.
