Please see Questions and Answers for some topics that frequently appear on this board. As you can see, this board loads rather slowly. If you are posting something for sale, please remember to include your location since someone who might otherwise be interested might not be able to use a part or a vehicle that is too far away. Posting your location when you're selling something that needs to be hauled will save everyone's time (and reduce the number of posts on this already too-slow message board). Thanks.

Hello folks,

I am trying to build a relaible data base on the post war version of this engine. The basic casting number 641087 and 804380. I am looking for the entire casting number series across the bottom right side of the block (IE 641087-L-W-12-A-N1-CR-N2), the serial number, weather it has an oval serial pad machined on the upper right side behind the oil filter, and if it has 2 or 4 expansion (freeze) plugs on the right side and timing mark location as well as how many bolt holes in engine's rear flange to attach it to the Bell housing and plate. Please include the model / serial of the jeep it came in if known.

Please email this data to me at: wsknettl@centurytel.net

1-Engine serial number
2-Engine casting number
3-Does it have the oval serial pad behind the oil filter?
4-Does it have 4 or 10 bolt holes in it's rear flange?
5-Does it have 2 or 4 expansion plugs on the right side?
6-Is the timing mark on the flywheel or the front crank pulley?
7-Model and serial number of the jeep the engine came in if known?
