One by one you can disconnect accessories, and when the light goes out, you have the culprit!. BTW, I had a similar problem, but it turned out the brand new battery I bought was bad! On the 12v conversion, make sure you either have a 12v coil with an internal balast resistor, or that you have a balast resistor before the points, or you will fry the points. Don't ask how I know.
