I am trying to understand how the gas guage and Sending unit work in my CJ2a. I can see how the battery gets hooked up to the fuel gauge and then on to the sending unit. I have taken out the fuel gauge and sending unit and want to test them to ensure they are working before I re-install them. I don't understand how the positive charge flows via the sending unit and makes the fuel needle move. I am also not good at electrical so I don't know what I am doing but, running power into the gas tank seens crazy to me.
