: The 48 CJ2A I am restoring had a battery box? that was rusted out. Where can I find dimensions or pictures of the original mount? I cannot find anything in the manuals and I am having no luck finding it on the web. It seems critical to know the dimensions since it is very close to the body.
: I will be using 6V system.
: Thanks for any help you can provide.

Gordon:
I think it is a battery tray (not box). The tray was attached to the frame (and there is a recess in the right front fender that boxes in the battery); at least that is the way it was on my 46 CJ2a; I did cut and bend a new tray, and there was enough of the vertical supports left that I could weld on the new tray. If you would like, I will dig through my "stuff" to see if I still have the cut-out diagram (actual diminsions); e-mail me at gnkhoffman@aol.com with your mailing address, and I will send you a copy (I am pretty sure I still have the diagram).
