L134 rear main seal too tight?

I'm in the process of rebuilding and now laying in the crank of this L134. When I torque the mains down to spec the back main binds the crank so it's difficult to spin. The bearings seem to be in good clearance and not machined to tightly. It spins good when I loosen up the rear. I think it's the rear main seal halves. The half that is in the cap doesnt want to seat all the way down similar to what a bearing half looks like....you know, flush. The upper half fits flush but the lower is up just enough to maybe cause binding when it's together and torked down. Any pointers here, guys??
