Mike,

I assume that you know this, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Remember that there are right and left handed threads on those original type
shackles. I went thru this a couple of years ago when I started restoring my '46, and
remember that it was really confusing at times. So, if the installing seems too tight,
it could be going the wrong way!

Hope this helps

: I bought new front springs and new shackles for my '46. The springs came with front bushings that I had to press out, now I find the 'threaded shackles' are a tight squeeze for the spring eyes. Do I just bear down on them and screw them into the eye as part of the install procedure? I understand the actual spring motion comes from the 'inner threads'. Thanks.

: Been tearing this thing down since Dec 2001, finally got a welder for some frame repair and slowly, painfully slow, getting it back together.

: Mike
