Thanks, I did not want to use tubing as a bushing as I do not know where the bolt will end up after the body goes back on. I think that I might try a piece of systhetic wood as this will not hold too much moisture and still allow drilling for the bolt.
The hat channel was really easy to fabricate in straight sections and then cut to follow the old ones.
