: Justin,
The CJ2A should have a Dana 25 front and Dana 41 rear. It may have a full floater Dana 27 if it's a very early 2A. They were usually 5:38 to 1 differentials. The locking hubs replace the original hub plate. The original hub plate fastened the ends of the drive axels to the wheel hub. This allowed the drive axels to drive the hubs. Locking hubs bolt to the wheel hubs and have a mechanically operated splined adaptor that would lock the drive axels to the hub when you wanted them to drive the front hubs and by selecting "unlock" you could leave the drive axels disconnected from the wheel hubs. This allowed the hubs to roll while not turning the front axels, differential gears and front driveshaft. This save wear and tear on thos parts when you were in 2 wheel drive and didn't need the front axles turning.
