Posted by joe on January 21, 2003 at 21:03:01: My 48 2A has the smaller 7/8" bell crank pin and it (like many) has oblonged the frame hole slightly causing additional slack in the steering. Has anyone had success with boring the frame hole larger and adding the 1-1/8"pin and switching bell cranks? If so how did you accomplish this accurately and safely? As a side note; I am unsure this will even work but it is easier to post this message than to clean the pile of "stuff" out from in front of the jeep to check this. This website has encouraged me to return this jeep to the road, but has also reminded me of the "things" that made me put it in storage in the first place. Thanks.
