: Looking a a restored CJ2A that has a Buick V6 in it. Everything else on the jeep is stock. I have no experience with this setup. Vehicle is in excellent condition having been restored by the original owner, but I am hesitant because of this conversion. Are there problems that could arise with a modern/more powerful engine than what the vehicle was designed for? Can the 3 speed and clutch handle this ok or will there be future problems? Any comments would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've heard the T-90 to some modern engines is ok, as long as you don't drive it like a sixteen year old. If I was going to convert a early CJ,I'd go the route youre looking at right now.
Regards.
