Just curious, when did this event get announced? I must be living under a rock.

Would love to make it next year as I am in retirement mode! I can't let you guys have all the fun!

I missed it too, George.  Pretty sure it was a private event.  Maybe it will be you and me next summer!

What I'd like to know is, why was Lee all dressed up?

It wasn't a private event.  It was just unannounced because some of the group is doing stuff in the area that is non jeep related.  Some of them were already in Ouray.  I crashed the party

Man, what an adventure.  I haven't been to this part of Colorado in 40 years, since I was in college with the Blue Mule.  I'd forgotten just how steep and dramatic the scenery is in this remote corner of the state.  We drove some rugged roads to get us into some wonderful viewpoints.  I'm sure we'll get some photos posted soon, but for now, it's unload what needs to be taken care of now, and relax with some wine after a full week of comradery and challenge.  For an impromtu "hey you" kind of event, it came together well and we had a great time.

Hard to say how Telluride has changed. The last time I was there, many years ago, you had yuppies or hippies. I don't fit into either group. I hope I am normal. Aspen people are mostly jerks on the most part from my experience from many years ago.

One of my cousins from Texas married into money.  She now has a vacation home just outside Telluride.  It's a BIG place, and EXPENSIVE.  And it's not the most expensive place there.
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

Jeff, thanks for the video of us coming down Black Bear Pass. It was awesome that you made it to Ouray only if it was for only one day. We had a great week!

Ok, yes perhaps it is a MN thing , here we refer to the bibs & jacket as an "IowaTuxedo".... In my earlier days this was a common site where I come from .... That being said, the military Jeep crowd often dress in period correct uniforms, I cannot say I have ever seen anyone dress in period correct clothing in the presence of a civilian Jeep!. I had fun with this in Ouray. I very much like bibs for trailriding as do others, try them and the jacket was a warm addition in the mountains!.

Ouray was great fun, with great company. Black Bear I did not find as intimidating as all the hype suggests, but a humbling expierience non the less and great fun. Imogene is beautiful and very long, but other places we traveled there are just as beautiful.

More later, Lee

WOW, this looks awesome! Got a question for some of you semi-locals. Don't know if this is the proper spot.  I just met a guy who says he has a cabin on Joe Moore Lake. His family has owned it for four or five generations. Sounds amazing. Anyone have in info and are there trails around there? Thanks. Dan
