I got word from hawkjeep (Ismeal), he told me today that he is having an old timer , racecar builder have a look at his 134L similar fracture on top but it looks as thought his is through the cylinder wall . mine is just into the valve chamber on the 200L i do have a valve seat grinder and as i removed the valves and all their springs and components , labeling everything , looks to be in fare shape but i'll go modern on the rebuild , I'd like to save the block . Thanks F Bill .

Years ago I worked at a place called Comptech Machine where we would routinely repair catastrophic engine failures on old and rare engines (some of which were extremely valuable). Unfortunately the company sold and today they no longer do that sort of work. But it can be done! One way that I would research a good and reliable resurrectionist engine builder would be to look at the antique/historical racing community. That is where virtually all of our major repair jobs came from back then. Just a thought.

Hey Bruce,
I have Cj2a #10277. I might be interested in a purchase instead of a swap? I have what I believe Sean told me is an MB engine in mine witch I don't believe is what you are looking for. But I would love to have that engine!

I'd love to see this engine to go back into an early CJ2A, but so far none of my GPW engine leads have panned out. Since this block seems to be my best option at the present, I'll have to hang on to it untill I have a GPW in hand. If I find a GPW engine or block I can use this Willys engine will be for sale. Thanx rthorp14 for bringing the thread back to the top. BW

What ever happened to this block? I wonder because I have CJ2A #10226 which has a later replacement engine. Since the last post was seven years ago, I am guessing the block is elsewhere but I figured I'd ask.

I traded that engine for a complete GPW engine. It was very close to being the correct engine for the '45 that it was going into. I haven't heard anything about it since. BW
