wil year.will a rear axle assembly from a 1947 cj2a fit on a 1946 cj2a? My rear axle is bent and cracked. I cannot find a rear axle assembly For my 1946. The parts are original and the part numbers have been worn off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless someone changed the gear ratio ( highly unlikely) '47 will work.

Which axle do you have? Dana 41 or the 23?

I have a 1947 cj2a and need to find out what the torque for the pinion nut
and wheel drum nuts are. I keep see torque sheets but a lot of the spots for the cj2a are blank. From what I can tell the pinion nut torgue is between 200 and 225 lbs. and the rear wheel drum nuts are 150 lbs. Is that correct? Also my front drums have had a lock out added, so the nuts with the keys are gone and now have the large nut with a washer and a second large nut for locking, does anyone know what the torque is on the second locking nut with this layout. thanks Richard |
