I have been following a thread over on the ECJ5 forum about a member that suffered a terrible injury to his ring finger due to his ring getting caught in a piece of equipment. While turning wrenches for the last 30yrs I really hadn't given it much thought, but I do now at work! I was still wearing my ring at work until I read his thread. So I was looking at silicone rings and found one that works for me. I hope to have it dirty very soon will out wheeling!!
the slamazon goons delivered it today!! |

Since I have no need to have a reminder I am married nor do I need to fend off women wondering if I am married. I have almost never worn a ring. When the wife and I got married I made hand made knives for a living. And wearing any jewelry at that occupation would be seriously stupid. So when we got hitched I wore the ring on the weekend honeymoon and then it went into a box. So years later the wife added it to her rings she wears. I have no idea were its even at now. I assume in her jewelry box.

Haven't worn it in years. Working on industrial controls for the last 30 years, jewelry was not allowed by my employer. It lived on my key ring for a while. Now it lives in a drawer.
My brother in law doesn't wear his either. He lost his ring finger when he slipped climbing down off of the bed of his dump truck. His ring caught on something and well you can imagine what happened.

I’ve been wearing a Silicone ring for about 10 years now. I’m on my second one , the first got ripped off jumping out of a side by side. My Son had his Wife’s Name tattoed on the top side of his ring finger. I’ve been married for over 30 years. Just another reminder of the day we said I Do.

Haven't worn a ring in 37 years.
It was below zero out and I had just finished pumping gas with no gloves on. I made the mistake of being polite and holding the door for someone coming in while I was exiting after paying. They ripped the door out of my hands, and my ring caught on the edge of the door and as described 'gloved' my ring finger. It has't been a problem. |

When I was a kid I knew a man who was missing his left ring finger after he jumped over the sideboard of a farm truck and his ring caught on the board. When I was in the Army I knew a sergeant who lost his ring finger when he got his ring between something “hot” and a ground behind the instrument panel of a jeep. As long as I’ve known my Dad he’s had a scar around his left wrist from when he did a similar thing with his wristwatch. My grandpa lost his left hand when a bean combine got ahold of his watch. I don’t wear any of that kind of foolishness. BW
