Hey guys!
We are again plotting routes as we speak and getting the farm in order. Looking forward to seeing all who can return along with all new arrivals!
I will be posting later, some ideas that will dictate our travels this year. This way you guys can give us some input for the weekend. The regular crew seems to be intact here and all seem excited about it.

And yes Al, you and Marilyn have the usual RV spot. And yes you can arrive early as usual! LOL

We will have a room or two at the cabin that will be available if someone needs a place.
I think Cheap Jeep will be taking a room at the cabin and that will leave a few more.

We will be there again this year with at least a couple of 2a’s. Me and Steve will probably come down on Thursday and set up. I would like to request my usual camping spot (have to drive down Al’s property values....)
Troy- we’ll help any way we can, just holler at me.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Never know what that brother-in-law of mine will get us into!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again & having some fun in some old jeeps. Also Troy if possible I may need a hookup for small pop up camper. Nothing fancy just might want to run air & fridge. As Greg stated we will be down Thursday. See y'all later

Guys and Gals
The boys and I have just made a purchase and need some direction on parts.
We have a possible 1972 M35A2 "deuce and a half" and need first, driver side door hinges. We have the door but no hinges on the cab.
Next, we plan on bobbing this unit and need a M105 trailer if any body comes across one. We will also be looking for the super single wheels and tires to replace the duals.
If you come across these items maybe we can work something out to get them here at the farm for the ride.

Thanks

What do you do, shorten the frame and put the trailer body on?  What are the advantages of that?

What I'm looking for is a unit that will be easier to get around and more friendly to drive. I figure if you loose one rear axle you gain HP plus it doesn't have power steering and should steer a little better. We can then modify the bed for a more usable truck for pulling farm equipment around or just plain cruising in the back country.

Ok Guys
Cheap Jeep decided he couldn't wait for help so he went to the shop climbed a ladder to his top shelf for a jeep tool box then fell to the concrete. He has a shattered ankle/heel and awaiting surgery as we speak. He has also managed to fracture his lower spine in 2 places. Not sure yet what the doc thinks he can do with his ankle/heel but will soon find out. This is the best way I figured to let you guys know.

updated report

Lonnie is now at Skye rehab center in Bowling Green KY. His heel/ankle is inoperable and will be put in a cast for 3-4weeks with no weight on it. His spine fractures seem to be a small issue at this point. Meaning they don't seem to effect him and his movement. He will be in a wheelchair for a while but is recovering with good spirits at the moment. Skye has a policy that allows limited visitation so we can only hang out for a little while after he has his rehab session then they run us off for the night until after lunch the next day.
He is still planning on riding in a jeep in Sept.! He says the show must go on!!

Thank you all for your support

Hey guys
Cheap jeep is home now and doing well. He is in a wheel chair for the next several months but seems to be accepting the challenge. His greatest concern is the jeep ride and what he is going to ride in! We have found that if you have dialisis treatment you will not find a rehab center or assistance facilities that will take you. So we will be doing what we can from the house with outside help 2 times a week. He is able to answer a phone and hunt for parts for the jeeps as we need them! LOL

Feel free to give him a call. He is available after 10am till 7pm

Date Posted: 20 Aug. 2018 at 2:41pm
Glad he's home....that ought to make him feel better in itself. Now on to the home rehab.

Lonnie, see you soon.....do what the doctors tell ya. Take care!

O.K.
The fall color tour is winding down and the Kentucky ride is winding up!!!!
It looks like the weather is going to cooperate for a wonderful 200mile weekend.
We already have a RV parked in the trailer park section so Al you and Marilyn need to get here if you want the executive spot!! LOL
We are looking forward to everyone arriving and the guys have mapped another great  trip for us across the hills and hollars of KY and TN. We will be stopping by the Donaho once again, for lunch. We will be gathering Sat night for another meal and camp fire at the cabin. The garage is open, the coffee pot is working and the boys from Columbia are back for our entertainment!LOL
All of Cheap Jeeps units are finally running again (A few days earlier than last year) and I'm not sure what to do at this point with the extra time.LOL
Speaking of the big Cheap Jeep, He is ready for the weekend!!! He has made all efforts to get us in line and on the right track with his supervision skills!!!

Looking forward to the weekend we pray for you guys to have safe travels!

This year we are goin to try and help with some directions. The GPS in some cases takes you around the world to get here. So here we go.

If your GPS takes you to bowling Green KY;
Take I65 North to the Cumberland Parkway
Take the Parkway east to the 3rd exit, Turn Right onto Highway 90
Take Highway 90 toward Tompkinsville approx. 13mi to Highway 163
Turn right on Highway 163 toward Tompkinsville for approx. 13mi.
Continue through Tompkinsville to Highway 1366 on your right.
Turn right onto Highway 1366,  and continue on Highway 1366 about 4mi. to County Farm Rd. on your left.
Aprox. 300ft on your left is where the party is!

Look for Al's Towing and Recovery RV in the middle of a cow pasture! Then you know you are at the right place.

If your GPS takes You to Scottsville Ky;  You are screwed. A scenic route is mandatory!! It's a nice ride but don't listen to the GPS. You will see way more of Ky than you want. Do follow these directions.
Once you are in Scottsville you need to find Hwy98 at the town square and exit the town square on Hwy98.
Hwy98 will turn right shortly out of town so pay attention. Toward Fountian Run/Browns Ford
Hwy98 will end at Fountain Run and at this point take a left onto Hwy100 and proceed to a 4way stop.
Continue through the 4way on Hwy100 approx. 7mi and take a left onto Hwy1366.
Continue on Hwy1366 to a stop sign and turn right to continue on Hwy1366 for aprox. 4mi to County Farm Rd. on your right. Go 300' on County Farm Rd. and look to you left for Al's Towing and Recovery RV in the middle of a cow pasture.
If you get to this point, you have made it to the party!!!!

If your lost. I hope you have cell service or a satelite phone!

Al’s towing and recovery RV is making its way through the swamps of Kentucky and will be arriving Thursday morning!  Presently in Cave City and heading to Columbia tomorrow to straighten out the boys up there.  (Brought 100 plus feet of heavy tow strap so those guys can get out and play).  Seriously, looking forward to seeing everybody and a great ride!

Well
The streams and creeks are not dry!!! We are beginning to feel like ducks around here. We have had several inches but mostly at a moderate rates. A few places have flood issue but if you have been here at the farm you know there ain't no way we are gonna flood in this area. The creeks have been fairly decent and I don't expect any Issues.

Me and Lee Ann had esteemed company tonight with Al, Marilyn and their friend Wally joining us. We had a tour of the farm and my old stomping grounds and a light snack before returning them to their home away from home in a lovely WM parking lot.

Wally got a little insight on what to expect over the next few days; narrow roads, tobacco fields, creeks, tobacco barns, narrow roads, Al needling me and me needling Al, while Marilyn just shakes her head. Great to have you guys, let’s make this a pre-ride tradition!

Weather is looking great for the weekend. It’s definately been damp, but the rain is suppose to end Wednesday/Thursday morning.

Tomorrow is last checks of the Jeeps, loading and a final trip to Wally World for groceries and supplies. Thursday we roll into Tompkinsville!

Looking forward to seeing all of our friends again and making new ones. Al commented tonight what a great group of people attend Lonnie’s ride and I couldn’t agree more. See ya’ll soon!

I am home. I had to leave my travelling sidekick behind due to trailer failure on the arrival. Hope fully he can be back on the road tomorrow.

I want to give a HUGE shout out to Troy and his family and friends, who opened their property and hearts to John & Patty Waddle and myself, without reservation, especially after he met me in the driveway with the look of "who are you".....lol,  and made us feel welcome the whole time !!!! There still are GOOD people in this world !!!!!

And a huge thank you to Lonnie and Marilyn, for allowing us to celebrate in your special event, we are so humbled to be considered friend(s) enough to partake in your moment !!!!!!!

And to all the friends I already knew, and the new ones I made, it was a pleasure to spend "jeeping time" with you as always......

God bless to everyone, and videos and pics to come as soon as I recover from the case of asphalt butt that I have..... LOL

We managed to make a 4.5 hour trip into a 10hr one....270 miles in 10 hrs ....we were definately 'smelling the roses' with an average like that.

Great weekend with special people and special memories as well.

Thanks so much Lonnie, Marilyn, Troy and Julie.....more special thanks to come later, been a long day, but so much to be thankful for.

A truly great weekend!

A big shout out to Hollywood and his wife for the nice ride Friday. Always helpful, always kind and a hoot to be around in general (as was the whole Cammack crew).

Was really cool to see them pilot that 2wd pink Jeep across the river crossing....and we were actually talking about whether he had an old Jeep at home of not......tell him to go ahead and 'pull the trigger' on one.

Ok, that’s it for my meager photo submissions. Like Troy, I was too busy driving and informing Marilyn early on and Wally later of all that makes KY and TN great. From the young ages of some of the participants (and Lonnie’s generosity Saturday night) it would seem that the future of Willys is bright in south central KY!

This is one of of the highlights of our year. We literally start planning our trip for the next year on the way home. We have made so many new friends over the past three years and look forward to seeing you as often as we can.

Special thanks to Troy and Julie for opening their home and farm for us. The “Cammack Crew” for all that they do (The boys about “Sir’ed” me to death, be proud of them Troy).

Matt, Lindsey, “my good friend Levi”- y’all are awesome.

Appreciate all the “Moms” that helped look after young William during the weekend (Thanks for the sunscreen patrol).

Rainey- GREAT ride on Saturday, your misspent youth paid off!

Chad- slow down on the Jeep parts and buy Phyl some shoes will ya?

Al- does anything really need to be said? The door is always open for you. Keep us informed on Wally’s Jeep search, looking forward to another flat fender coming to KY next year!

Harry, Jo- remember what we talked about Saturday morning. We’ll follow up before next year. Ya’ll rock!

Finally- to Lonnie and Marilyn- THANK YOU for having the vision to bring this ride to us. You guys are AWESOME!

See ya’ll next year!

Greg

They are already Shoe-Goo-ed up and ready for next year.

(besides, Troy alluded to the fact that as long as she was in KY that they were optional apparel anyway)

Thanks for all the pics!!! Looks like a great group of folks enjoying time together while taking in some nice scenery. This event caught my attention last year and is definitely one I am going to have make it to in the future. That Surrey Jeep is very cool too!

I'm not a video guy so I'll take some help on that. I have several video to post also.

We do have a great time around the shop but don't think we don't put the miles in!
Last year was nearly 200mi in few days. We would love to you here in Ky/Tn for the gathering next year!
