We picked up "Rusty" a 51 CJ3a that has what appears to be a round box with 3 110V outlets.  The Jeep had a 12V generator and battery system that seems to have powered a snow plow lift.  I didn't thing much about the outlets on the rear until I saw the picture in this post -

Here is the rear of Rusty.  Almost thought it was the same Jeep.  But we have a triple outlet.

Anyone else ever seen a similar setup?  No remaining wiring on Rusty to see what may have been the purpose/use.

It almost looks like those outlets have the wide-plug polarization slot on the left side.  That would make the outlets relatively new (as in the last 30 or so years).
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

Maybe to display snazzy Christmas lights on the jeep.

Could be an easy way to have a quick detach trailer plug for an implement that is on the hitch. Just a guess.

I saw a few Bantam Trailers that bubba had used a 2 prong cord plug for the trailer connection. Quick and simple, probably handy at the time to serve the purpose at little or no cost if you had it on hand.

That is a possible explanation.  Lots and lots of Bubba work on Rusty.
