Good afternoon everyone, well, after 3 years, 10 months, 780 hours in the garage, and a good chunk of my kids inheritance, we're good to go.  To view the picture gallery, please click on the link below:  http://imgur.com/a/8XhaL

Cannot argue results, but I have to give you extra kudos... a lot of projects that get to the two year mark die on the vine and hit craigs list.

Much respect, now drive it like you stole it ;)

I like the color! (or is that colour?) It could be the twin to Ol' Red except for the rims and tires (tyres?) LOL...

Gotta agree with mbullism...drive it like you stole it.

Nice restoration. I am impressed.

Wow! That is a s**t ton of work all done in a homeowners garage in a suburban setting. Newbies take note...this is all the crud, grime, rust and fabricating that you'll have to do to get er done. You deserve all the credit for your determination. Great job!👍

Love it!  That's pretty much the look I want in a CJ2A.   I think they look best when they look to be close to stock.

Great Job!  Interesting I own #59359 same color combo.  I hope to finish mine this fall/winter, been too busy lately. Yours gives me the itch to get going again.  Also Carl Walck from Walck's 4wd has an all original 59905 also same color combo.

Good morning everyone, thanks a million for your comments.  We don't restore these things for recognition but it sure feels good just the same to get such great feedback from your peers.  This 2A has never been plated.  I was able to find the daughter-in-law of the original owner (both husband and father-in-law have passed, says something about the longevity of Jeep).  She was crying on the phone and wrote a long thank you for preserving the Jeep.  They used it as a farm vehicle and got extensive use out of the PTO.  Undertaking this restoration, my second, in a residential neighborhood was interesting.  My son bought me a 7,000 watt heater for my garage and a lot of the work was done over the winter at night with the door closed.  I've owned Jeeps continuously since 1979 when I was given a CJ7 as a relocation incentive (Those days are long gone).  My son has picked up the torch.  He has 3 including my 1993 YJ that I passed onto him for his 16th birthday.  He is doing a masterful job of the restoration.  That's him in the photo gallery teaching me how to weld.  He also convinced us to buy our current family car, a 2017 Trailhawk (mixed results to date).  Finally, in addition to my son, my wife and best Jeep buddy Gary McCourt who lives just down the road, I would never have got to the finish line without your assistance and guidance.  So, I guess the next thing to do is to take your latest piece of advice and "Drive it like I stole it".  Again, thanks a million, Don
