As the subject says I have a couple of questions. Longtime jeep owner and have lurker often.
i have a 1947 CJ2A - that is what is on the title. The tag on the firewall is missing but the one on the driver side frame is there. This tags indicate a serial # of 15292X which should make the jeep a 1948 model. Did the frame # and the firewall numbers match? I have owner the jeep since 1980.
Second question is the wood slats on my hood - were these added post factory? I have not seen these elsewhere but the paint on the supports matches the hood. They sure work well for securing stuff

The frame and firewall serial numbers should match, unless your jeep has been put together with donor vehicles.

The slats were added by a previous owner to suit a need. not something Willys would have installed.

The elk are right out your front door?  You don't even need the rack on the hood!  Big smile
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable
