So it appears everything has 'shrunk' (or compacted, I guess) on my screen with the new "upgrade" (avatars and such).....everybody else seeing that too?

It is a browser difference. I normally use Firefox and saw no difference. I loaded the same page in IE8 and everything was smaller or zoomed out. Actually, I think it may be mostly the size of the avatars. In IE8 they are rendered 64x64 but in Firefox they are 125x125. My guess is that it is another example of IE not following Web standards.

Alright more free Pfizer advertising....
The avatar size is smaller for me also. So tried my seldom used mozilla browser and it was the same.

Put your glasses on, Allen!
IE is still half brain dead and you have to keep Firefox updated just like everything else. |

Yea, I just noticed how much smaller the avatars are now. But I came up with an off-line solution. I got out the spotting scope and the short tripod and set it up over my keyboard. Now when I look at WFB's avatar I can see the waves splashing against the trees!!

For whatever the reason this time the avatars are smaller (still using FF 3.6.2). Go figure.
EDIT: Just checked on the definition for the avatar within the browser and this is what's there: "125px × 125px (scaled to 64px × 64px)" So it's being scaled within the forum software. Might have something to do with the class definition for "avatar". Larry Edited by rocketeer - 25 Mar. 2010 at 4:40pm |

Yes, it is weird. After Larry made the post above, i came back to the page with Firefox and saw the avatars were the size that they have always been for me. Then I narrowed the browser window and reloaded the page. At that point the avatars became smaller! Even after increasing the browser window back to as large as it could be and refreshing the page, the avatars remained small. When I right click on them now in Firefox, the size of the avatars now says 125x125 scaled to 64x64. Very unusual. My only thought is that Firefox cached the page structure from the past and then cleared the cache as I refreshed the page. My guess is that the avatars will remain small. I will be interested to see how things work on several other computers that I use.
Edit: IIRC, many forum software versions ago, the avatars were limited to a smaller size. I do recall if it was 100x100 or 64x64. Edited by samcj2a - 25 Mar. 2010 at 4:51pm |

Ok, I got a chance to change the avatar size back to 125 x 125, its something I have to reset after an update. Just like the search settings.
