.....Would be great to film it on 8mm film, no?Am I nuts? .... Not at all. We are totally doing that this fall. Hopefully Fred will bring his agrijeep and we can make some vintage style film. OK, I'll start rounding up my clothing - Let's see, I'll need; Straw Cowboy Hat,Pointed Cowboy Boots or Black&white Basketball Shoes, (maybe Penny Loafers) Snap-style Western Shirt with two snaps per pocket, or White T-shirt with Cig pack in sleeve, Levi's 501's.Yep, got it all!... I have Agrijeep footage I shoot and can make it look vintage or as in in HD Blu-Rayh. Also CJ-2A tons of HD fottage that can be made like it looks vintage or just as is showing running thressher, buzz saw, plowing and etc. It would begreat to get that out to the CFFC, on DVD or HD blue RAY. DVD is Digital Vesraital Disc. Authored and Master by Me At 3D Imagery, Inc, Daron

Keep in mind that while color 8mm film was available well before any Willys were made. No one processes Kodachrome or Ektachrome as color transparency film any more. The only thing available is B&W. And even that is not cheap
Also 8mm film is no longer available You will have to shoot with a SUPER 8 camera and SUPER 8 film a 50' roll will run you about $35.00 + shipping. Processing will run around $20-25.00 |

I think you may need to widen you view on the wardrobe Daron.
You need to dress in coveralls or your letterman sweater to buy and sell Jeeps... |

There are more than a few companies that sell, process, and scan 8mm film. Black and white as well as color is still available from the following people:
Spectra Film & Video- Hollywood, Ca. Yale Film & Video-Santa Clarita, Ca. International Film Brokers-Dixon, Ca. Dwayne's Photo-Parsons, Ks. I have a Bolex D8LA that I am using to film my niece's nostalgic 50's era wedding in two weeks and just bought some Kodak Vision3 50D color regular 8mm film and will use them for processing and scanning as well. Film is making a slow comeback and rumor has it that Kodak is reintroducing Kodacolor by years end. Don't toss those old cameras. |

not to hi jack the thread....but where do you guys find the projectors for the 8mm and super 8 film? Or rather, how do you watch it once it's developed? I have a ton of my family 8mm/super 8 film I need to watch and transfer to digital.

Ebay will be your #1 starting point for a projector. Ask family members. Try a swap meet, pawn shop, flea market. The best option nowadays, is having the footage either put on a DVD or having it scanned into a digital file that you can edit/share on your computer.

Rick! I have just the thing for you. I dug this out of the dark recesses of a building I just vacated 6 months ago or so. What little I've messed around with it, it appears to be serviceable, but will need some tinkering. It's yours if you want it! Just let me know.
