Had some misc. parts laying around so I made a removable radio for my jeep, not the greatest picture. I can run off the jeep with an ac plug or the battery that is in the ammo can.

That's pretty slick Andy. Now, if only it had the 8 track option...

I recently bought an ammo can to make a CB box with. That way I will be able to switch from the Willys to the JK easily. Can you show some more pictures?

Can’t wait to see this thing Andy. So which turned out better, the radio or the home brew?

Just came across this, that's a fantastic idea... any pics of the interior?

no pictures of the interior, under that face plate there is a lot of wires and a 12 volt battery so you can listen to the radio when its not plugged in to an outlet or cigarette lighter.

I guess I was more curious on what battery you managed to squeeze in there underneath the radio and avoiding the cones... and how long does said battery last?

The battery is a 5 ah or 7 ah battery and it will last over an hour if you listen to the radio. I really had to space stuff out good so that the battery would work.

OK so now you have to provide a parts list and some cool detailed construction pics so we can be guided.

Here's one I put together. It's a FM, Bluetooth, USB, SD unit. I also put in a USB charger output and 12V power input jacks.
I've had it for a while now and I never use it, think I used it one time actually. I find I like just cruising and hearing the Jeep instead. |

Now how in the world do you guys expect to carry your ammo????????? You need a set of head phones to hear it, but the local law enforcement would probably frown a bit. John

I guess in the guns haha. Nice ammo box radio. My radio has an auxiliary port so you can use your phone too and charge a phone. My parts list would be two 6 inch speakers I think, a car radio, some fuses for the battery and radio, wiring and a car antennae so I can get radio stations. My ammo can is a fat 5.56, I guess they used them for the SAW gun and stuff.
