A little help please? I found a small trailer that appears to be a Bantam, though I will need some help to confirm this. What do I need to look for, and where will I find it?

I turns out that it was a home built trailer... A well done job no less, but not a Bantam.

Bummer. So, did you end up buying it anyways? A good trailer is always useful at the right price

Yes. I did buy it. at only $100.00 it was too good to pass up. The question is, can I make it a Military clone, to go with Murph?
Check out the 55 gallon oil drum fenders. Tires & wheels, lights, O.D. paint, and a pintle hook hitch on a shortened tongue. Look out paraders, here we come... Edited by Thunder - 15 Mar. 2014 at 10:12pm |

Are you sure that's not at least a Bantam tub (and frame?)? If not, it's something similar. Those more knowledgeable than me will undoubtedly chime in.

It is VERY WELL built, with only surface rust. The tongue has been modified, and should be easy enough to convert to a pintle hitch. As far as the tub, I was thinking that it was from a manufactured trailer. I crawled under it, to look for a data plate, but none was to be found. And as for stealing it at that price, I am ALWAYS up front at buying. If I see something that I like, I will ask the owner if it needs a new home, other than theirs. I tell them that I don't negotiate, and that, is out of respect, not to be any kind of a "tough Guy". I also tell them, that I cant afford to pay them, what its worth (and that's the truth). My honesty has provided some good finds. I've only sold off one piece that I've purchased like that, and I've felt guilty, ever since. I am a COLLECTOR. Not a flipper...

Great buy!!.....fix it up, paint it OD and it will look the part. Spen trailers are a little harder to find than a Bantam trailer. Check out jpet's project, it may help with yours.
