    Posted: 21 Aug. 2010 at 3:25pm
Karl aka ndrtkr pm'd be asking about correct Bantam T3-C castings so I began to research pictures on the web site and have determined we have at least 3 different hitch castings as shown below which will create a new column in the database and also show a production change; hopefully getting us closer to determining production years.

It is obvious to a few of us that the first one is a result of the lunette mount being removed from the Military T3 trailers until the supply was used up or the second redesign may have been brought into production then we have the third change with the square casting added.

post your serial number and which type you have:

early (w/hole)
mid (w/o hole)
late (w/ square casting added)

Art,
Mines the latest style, another interesting feature you might want to gather info about is the drawbar reinforcement plates, when the change happened between the "V" ended ones and the "slash" ones.

tjackson,

Welcome to the Trailer Forum, I see you are a new sn for the database and in case you did not know have one of the rare trailers left over from WWII T3 trailer parts.

Take a look at a close brother of yours - sn1715 already on the database.

Please email me some pictures for the website  http://bantamt3c.com and let me know the city and state your in as well. 48cj2a@sbcglobal.net

You should also have a ACM number stamped on the gusset beneth the left from spring hanger that I would also like to record. http://bantamt3c.com/images/BantamT3C/151371/ACM151371.jpg

Thanks,

Hi,
I am new to this forum and have a T3-C trailer I am trying to identify. It has no serial number tag. You mentioned a ACM number stamped on the gusset beneath the left from spring hanger. I looked at the pic but can't really identify where exactly to find this number. Would anyone have another picture from more of a distance so I can tell where it is at?  What does this number tell you?
I do have the later style hitch casting 16495.

Also, is there a particular site to purchase tail lamp, tires or other parts for these?

Thanks for your help
Dave

Well you are not posting your question in the right area.  You are in the hitch casting poll section.

I would suggest you go the the bantam website - you can get some idea of your trailer's age by looking at the database.   http://bantamt3c.com/

You will probably not find an ACM as looking at your pics, only the frames left over from WW2 production had an ACM.  Yours is much newer.

You need to look at the hitch casting, spring hangers, and other items to get an idea of age.

This forum is good source of where other folks are sourcing parts. Look at the other posts on this forum for tailgates. I can tell you right now that tail lights are the holy grail - and very difficult to find originals.  There is a section on the Bantam website about using an alternative.

Tires can be purchased wherever the jeep guys get them.  I ordered mine from the tire dealer - STA - specialty tires of america - 6.00 x 16 NDT.
