Had breakfast with a good friend this morning... his affliction is old Broncos. He put on over 600 miles attending a rolling get together in CT yesterday. The attached pic is impressive enough, imo, but I guess the numbers varied throughout the day as folks joined in or peeled off along the way, with a max of around 35 vehicles at one point...

Boy this makes me miss my Bronco. One of the best vehicles I ever owned. So regret selling that....

Early Broncos in good, unmolested shape have finally reached the 'highly collectible' threshold. Restored stockers are bringing silly money at the big auctions. Part of this bandwagon is related to Ford bringing the nameplate back next year.
The world can't have too many cool vintage 4x4s, in my view. Values for early IH Scouts are also on the rise. None come close to early Willys vehicles, of course.

Yep. It was last year - '77 - for the small body. Had the Ranger package. Nice interior. Had power steering, disc brakes, a 302 V8 hooked to a C4 auto with 4:10 gears. It had a James Duff lift and 35 inch tires. It really was a good driving and practical truck. I've had probably 25-30 different 4x4's pass through my hands. But I was a real fool to let this one go.

My buddy's (current one) is a '77, just picked it up recently... he has a built 302 on a stand from a previous mustang project, but the rebuilt 302 that came in it runs so well he just tucked the loose ends in so he could drive it til fall. He speaks in tongues about all the stuff that has already been done, and correctly. It's coming totally apart after deer season, and his OCD will demand he go nut and bolt, hide every wire, and apply at least 12 coats of paint (his wife has already picked out "candy tangerine" )
