After getting carb rebuilt and tuned up. Noticed she was overheating on first long test run. Antifreeze full on inspection. Although it was a new thermostat I remove it. Another twst run same result. Has been down since cold weather for repairs. Didnt overheat back then. Giing to pressure wash out radiator exterior and check for circulation. Any other ideas?

Put in a 160 degree tstat, make sure there is not a vacuum leak at the carb mounting gasket, make sure timing is correct.

definitely no vac leak. Just did Scoutpilot sweet spot tune up.
Removed thermostat that was new and she still overheated. When cool opened dad cap and you can see antifreeze flowing but kinda slow. So thinking a trip to the red shop for a boil out and pressure test is in order.

Physical steam blowout overheat? Sure it's not a faulty temp gage?

started to steam out under radiator cap. Gonna try the presrone flush first. If that doesntvwork, I'll have the radiator boiled and pressure tested.

Any shop can pressure test the cap..If it's blowing at less than 4lbs a new cap could be an easy cheap fix..

Did the red flush. Water flowed better but still heated to 180 without thermostat in. Pulled radiator and found lots of bent find and someone had painted the thing with a brush. Lots of clogged air passages. Ordered 3 row aluminum replacement. Should make a big difference.

I ask because I'm seeing 2 types.
Side mount but has top tube centered (no good) will not clear fan and shroud.
Bottom mount had tubes in correct location but my 3A is set up foe sidemount.

Jeff, if your orig rad has a shroud you should be able to remove it (6 sheet metal screws)
and adapt it to your new rad.

I also managed to get one of those omix radiators and my cooling problems have gone away. It will climb up to about 195 at a stop but once it hits that it'll go back down to 180.
Looks like summit racing has them for $212

Hey Nobodyjeff5888
I'm the guy would told you about the 133 radiator with shroud on ebay.
I've still have had some heating problems with it, but I started to modified it
with a larger shroud that is made of four piece mounted to the existing shroud
to make it deeper and tighter around the fan. So far I have two pieces made
the top one and the driver side piece. I seems to be helping and but I
won't know until how much until I get it done.
sent me your email in a private pm and I will sent your some photos of
what I'm doing.
