Great photos, particularly those out in the sagebrush. I've really warmed up to the looks of 3Bs, the kinda cool weirdness of them, and have always liked the 'WILLYS' stamped into the top of the 3B grill. Love your dad's shop!

Mud fun!!
I was blown away at how well these old desert dog tires did in the slop!
Even though the old dog was only running on 3 cylinders and the carb was messed up.
I never got stuck Clap

Sunset mud bogging at windy sage Jeep farm!

Usually if you can’t spin the tires fast enough to clean them out your not going anywhere!
I definitely didn’t have enough power to spin the tires fast enough but it just kept moving!!
It was awesome Big smile
Okay I went crazy taking pictures so here’s more.

I think Desert Dog is my favorite of your collection. Although the FCs are cool, and the 3b, and.... awe heck. I love them all.

Ben,  the reason for mud success was the rock screens over the headlights!LOL

I'm amazed at how you kept foot prints leaving the Jeep from the photos. Pretty sneaky and a excellent photographer you are. You compose things well.

The huge sage brush might be a world record. The redwood of sage you have!!!!!!!! You should core it to count the rings for age.

How is your cell reception there? If you got stuck is it a long walk home or can you call for a tow????

All we have here in the Black Hills is salt, ice, snow, and closed FS gates. Not much fun Jeeping. Good shop time though. Drive all summer, fix and build all winter. Wink

Great observation! I never thought of that LOL

Thanks for the compliment. It great to have friends who appreciate pictures of old Jeeps.

As far as foot prints, the truth is........ I have desert dog trained on whistle commands and being highly intelligent I can send him around the muddy field while I take pictures ShockedWink

Good cell service.
It would probably take me longer to decide what Jeep to have my wife come tow me out with then walking backLOL
The pictures in the open mud field is right behind our house.

The Ben,
I love that thing. It’s a working truck with the chains hanging at the ready, the fence post pounder handy, posts, metal and wood in the back.

Who cares if there are a couple of tiny cracks in the windshield. It’s still getting the job done.

Awesome!

What’s that little tire on the front for?

Desert Dog has been running like a Dog!!!
And I don’t just mean doing a lot of work Wink

After my mud adventure and lack of tire spin.
I decided it was time to put it in the shop.

Don’t forget to put down cardboard when you put a dirty dog in the shopLOL
It had no power a bad miss and acted like it was starving for fuel. I had already replaced the fuel pump and it hadn’t helped.
So first order of business pull the carburetor.

Maybe first order should have been power washingShocked
But instead I scraped it off with a putty KNIFE!!!SleepySleepy
Don’t worry I didn’t scratch the paint...very much.

When I took the top off the carb it was obvious why it was starving for fuel, the float adjustment was wwwway off.??
 ?????
So with help from this forum and scout pilots utube vid I set all the adjustments spot on.

I of course dropped that tiny clip on the carb linkage!
After crawling around on the shop floor I found it here.

After getting it all back together I took it for a test run to the mailbox Clap
It wasn’t starving for fuel anymore and had more power... but still had a miss. I was thinking maybe a fowled plug??
As I came back up the driveway my wife waved from the living room window.
I waved with a big grin thinking what a great Jeep mechanic I was.
About that time the Jeep diedAngry
Will not start!!!
Carb over flowing with gas!!!!
It getting dark and the Jeeps 60’ from the shop.
I go in the house thinking I’m the Worst Jeep machanic in the WORLD!!!!!

...
